Praying with a Humble Faith

Matthew 21:24 (KJV) “And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.”

We live in a world where prayer is not merely an option it should be a lifestyle. Life’s toils, difficulties, and trials make it essential for each of us to pray, so that we are not discouraged in our Christian walk and may have the courage, strength, and fortitude to forge ahead.

In Matthew 21:24, one prerequisite for answered prayer is having faith in the One to whom we are praying, and praying in accordance with His clear, revealed will. We are admonished to believe that we will receive what we ask for that as we approach His throne, our efforts will be rewarded.

As individuals, as families, and as a church, some may be praying for healing, for victory, or for a breakthrough. Has He not promised? Is He not faithful? Is He not capable? Because He is, let us believe, brothers and sisters.

Often, faith is tried and tested through prayer. Yet still, we must be earnest, persevering, and never
lose the courage to pray.

Reflection:

  • Do I claim and believe the promises of God in my prayer life?
  • Do I pray in accordance with His plainly revealed will?
  • Am I earnest in prayer?

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to exercise faith in prayer and to be earnest and persevering. May I never doubt Your
presence, even through the darkest of days. Amen.
